Kandt House was the first colonial governor of Rwanda, on behalf of Germany, until the early 1900s. At present, the Kandt House Museum in Kigali comprises three main parts.
The first part presents Rwandan life in all its aspects – social, economic, and political – before the colonial period.
The second part traces the experience of the Rwandan people during the colonial period. Following the Berlin Conference in 1884, the Germans ruled Rwanda until 1916, when the Belgians took over under the League of Nations Mandate after World War I. The third part covers the history of Kigali, before, during and after the colonial era. Kigali was made the capital upon independence in 1962.
Camp Belgian monument (Belgium Tomb) is found in Nyarugenge in Kigali Rwanda. The camp is place where the ten Belgian were massacred during the early days of the Rwandan genocide on the 7th of April 1994against the Tutsi, this were working with the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda.
The Kigali Genocide Memorial is an important place of remembrance and learning about the Genocide against the Tutsi. It is through education that we can prevent mass atrocities from occurring in our communities. A number of educations programmes are run by the memorial, both onsite and in communities across Rwanda
A new museum, Campaign Against Genocide Museum, has opened in Kigali at the parliamentary buildings. This museum tells part of the many Rwanda’s sad stories of the yesteryears, of despair, struggling to free a people from the yoke of subjugation, the efforts and the sacrifices that were suffered and written during the time of rescuing the Tutsi from the strangling hands of Interahamwe; the campaign that was started from the parliament buildings and became successful, a “Campaign Against Genocide ” (CAG Museum) was built in the parliamentary compound.then transfer to Rubavu for dinner and overnight
after Breakfast will drive to Grande Barriere border for crossing by 11:30am and ensure check-in with
Virunga tourism office by 13:00am. The tourism office is conveniently located in the Grande Barriere border post building, opposite passport control. Tourism staff will provide guests with gorilla and volcano trek permits at check-in. These permits must be presented before the start of each trek. Once check-in is complete, guests will be transported to Mikeno Lodge at the Park headquarters in Rumangabo. On arrival to Mikeno Lodge, a late lunch will be served and the afternoon can be enjoyed at leisure, including exploring Rumangabo’s several nature trails, bird watching or paying a visit to Virunga’s Congohounds

After an early breakfast at Mikeno Lodge, guests will set off for the first gorilla trek at Bukima Ranger Post. On arrival to Bukima, trekkers will meet their Ranger guides and local pisteursto receive a briefing before starting the gorilla trek. Treks usually require 1-2.5 hours of hiking each way, depending on location of the group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. After spending the allotted hour with the gorillas, trekkers will return to Bukima camp where a late lunch will be served. Guests will have the rest of the afternoon off to explore Bukima, including bird watching and visiting the Park’s bamboo project

At 8:30am, guest will start their second gorilla trek. Upon return, a quick lunch will be served at Bukima and when all gorilla trekkers have returned, guests will be transported back to Mikeno Lodge. On arrival to Mikeno, guests have the afternoon at leisure, free to explore the Park HQ or cosy up with a nice book by the fire.

After breakfast at Mikeno Lodge, guests will be transported to the Kibati Ranger Post, departure point for the Nyiragongo volcano trek. On arrival to Kibati, climbers will receive a briefing and have the opportunity to hire porters. The climb up the volcano takes around four to six hours and trekkers will overnight on the summit.

Early in the morning, climbers will leave the crater rim and start the descent back to Kibati. Average descent time is four hours. Once at the bottom, guests will be transported Tchegera island for dinner and over night

Tchegera Island is found on the northern shore of Lake Kivu which is shared between Rwanda and Congo. It is one of the best, yet least known destinations in Congo and offers perfect relaxation and exclusion.
While there, you can choose to lay back and relax on the beach or check out other parts of the Island using a Kayak or Paddle board – all available at Tchegera island tented camp. Bird viewing on the island is great and the most common birds there include heron, cormorants, African eagles and gulls.
On a good clear night, you will enjoy amazing views of the red-lit sky by the lave glow from Nyiragongo and Nyamulagira volcanoes and with that reflecting on the lake’s surface, it becomes totally magical! In the early morning after breakfast about 9 am will embark to island djwi, or Idjwi by boat, is an island in Lake Kivu belonging to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in the Sud-Kivu province. At 70 km in length and with an area of 340 km², it is the second largest inland island in Africa, and the tenth largest in the world

On the way will be enjoying the great view of lake kivu and other different small islands, arriving will go for hotel check in and lunch then afternoon we go for Havu cultural experience then back to Rubavu dinner and overnight
Early in the morning after breakfast will go to Nyamyumba hot water spring then drive to kigali for dinner and over night

After a leisurely breakfast, you will then proceed to Akagera National Park. Akagera National Park is located in the west north of Rwanda near the Tanzania boarder and it covers 1200 km² of savannah west of the Kagera River, in the north-east of Rwanda. The park has a variety of wildlife and is a habitat for over 500 different species of birds. Herds of elephant and buffalo emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while you might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena or even a lions, Giraffe and zebra haunt the savannah, and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park.
You will have lunch at Rusizi Tented lodge, then after you will go for boating in Ihema lake to spot the many water birds like Cormorants, Fish eagles and kingfishers Etc.…. and then return to the lodge for relaxation which is the ultimate bush experience.

Early breakfast, enter the park for Game drives; Akagera is home to a variety of game, and an exciting reserve in which to spend a few days. It offers an interesting contrast to the more mountainous central and western parts of Rwanda.
There are plenty of animals around and the birdlife is quite exceptional. Mammals include a healthy population of Big five Animals, plus 11
species of antelope including Impala, Common Duiker, Defassa, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Oribi, Cape Eland and the rare Sable Antelope. Hippos are present in impressive numbers in the lakes, and Zebra and Giraffe still roam the more open acacia dotted plains. After game viewing will drive to Karenge bush Camp for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Very early in the morning will go for a short game drive to spot some animals and birdwatching then back to the camp for Breakfast and relaxation then drive back to kigali for Departure.
