.Tchegera Island is found on the northern shore of Lake Kivu which is shared between Rwanda and Congo. It is one of the best, yet least known destinations in Congo and offers perfect relaxation and exclusion.
While there, you can choose to lay back and relax on the beach or check out other parts of the Island using a Kayak or Paddle board – all available at Tchegera island tented camp. Bird viewing on the island is great and the most common birds there include heron, cormorants, African eagles and gulls.

t, you will enjoy amazing views of the red-lit sky by the lave glow from Nyiragongo and Nyamulagira volcanoes and with that reflecting on the lake’s surface, it becomes totally magical! The day light offers captivating views of the lake and the four Volcanoes in a picturesque setting.

On arrival at Kigali International Airpirt, Kanombe, we meet you for greeting and briefing on the Ten days tour before we take you to the Mille Colline Hotel for dinner and overnight. This hotel is famous for featuring in the tragic movie Hotel Rwanda that was based on the true events of the Genocide.

Early in the morning will drive to Goma Arriving at Grande Barriere border crossing at 11:30 and ensure check-in with
Virunga tourism office by 13:00. The tourism office is conveniently located in the Grande Barriere border post building, opposite passport control. Guests will receive gorilla and volcano trek permits at check-in which must be presented at the start of each trek. Once check-in is complete, visitors will be transported to Kibumba.

After an early breakfast at Kibumba Tented Camp, trekkers will head down the hill to meet their Ranger guides and have a briefing before the gorilla trek. Treks usually require 1-2.5 hours of hiking each way, depending on location of the gorilla group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. After spending the allotted hour with the gorilla family group, trekkers will make their way back to camp, enjoy a late lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure, including time for nature walks and bird watching.

After breakfast in Kibumba, guests will be transported to the Kibati Ranger Post at 8:15am, departure point for the Nyiragongo volcano trek. On arrival to Kibati, guests will receive a briefing and will have the opportunity to hire porters. The climb up the volcano will take around four to six hours and trekkers will overnight on the summit.

In the early morning after breakfast about 9 am will embark to island by boat djwi, or Ijwi, is an island in Lake Kivu belonging to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in the Sud-Kivu province. At 70 km in length and with an area of 340 km², it is the second largest inland island in Africa, and the tenth largest in the world

On the way will be enjoying the great view of lake kivu and other different small islands, arriving will go for hotel check in and lunch then afternoon we go for Havu cultural experience then back to Rubavu dinner and overnight

Early in the morning after breakfast will go to Nyamyumba hot water spring then drive to kigali for dinner and over night

After a leisurely breakfast, you will then proceed to Akagera National Park. Akagera National Park is located in the west north of Rwanda near the Tanzania boarder and it covers 1200 km² of savannah west of the Kagera River, in the north-east of Rwanda. The park has a variety of wildlife and is a habitat for over 500 different species of birds. Herds of elephant and buffalo emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while you might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena or even a lions, Giraffe and zebra haunt the savannah, and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park.
You will have lunch at Rusizi Tented lodge, then after you will go for boating in Ihema lake to spot the many water birds like Cormorants, Fish eagles and kingfishers Etc.…. and then return to the lodge for relaxation which is the ultimate bush experience.

Early breakfast, enter the park for Game drives; Akagera is home to a variety of game, and an exciting reserve in which to spend a few days. It offers an interesting contrast to the more mountainous central and western parts of Rwanda.
There are plenty of animals around and the birdlife is quite exceptional. Mammals include a healthy population of Big five Animals, plus 11
species of antelope including Impala, Common Duiker, Defassa, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Oribi, Cape Eland and the rare Sable Antelope. Hippos are present in impressive numbers in the lakes, and Zebra and Giraffe still roam the more open acacia dotted plains. After game viewing will drive to Karenge bush Camp for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 9: full Game
Very early in the morning will go for a short game drive to spot some animals and birdwatching then back to the camp for Breakfast and relaxation then drive back to kigali for Departure.
